Project:

EVALUATION OF NGO-ACTIVITIES IN THE SOCIAL SPHERE

The Project is realized with the financial help of the Program for support of non-governmental organizations in Bulgaria by the Financial mechanism of the European Economic Space EEA Grants.

Project duration: June 2015 – April 2016

The project is initiated by the Alliance “Chance and protection” in Haskovo town, and the Alliance for Children and Youth is participating along with three pilot organizations working in the social sphere: The Alliance for Children and Youth in Sofia city, The Alliance “Gavroche” in Varna town and The Alliance “Centre Maria” in Gorna Oryahovitsa town.

The Impact is the main reason for the existence of an organization; it is the significant influence we leave after we are no longer present. The capability of the organization to evaluate the scope of the impact of its work and to demonstrate the benefits from this work to the community in which it is conducted is the key factor for continuous success.

The project aims to:

  1. Change the dominating paradigm in the evaluation of an organization’s achievements – from specific actions to changes and benefits from these actions.
  2. To build a capacity of the NGOs in the social sphere to include target groups and communities, citizens, institutions in the evaluation of their work’s impact.
  3. To create a potential so the organizations to become more visible and recognizable in the communities and in the society in general.

The main actions include:

  • Working on a methodology for evaluation of the impact, based on the inclusion of all interested parties in the communities, in which the NGOs work.
  • Standardization of the above mentioned Methodology with pilot NGOs
  • Working on “Principles and procedures for inclusion of the target groups, citizens and institutions in the evaluation of the impact.”
  • Publication of the results through a series of workshops for NGOs working in the social sphere, public events, media.

It is estimated that 33 NGOs working in the social sphere in Bulgaria will benefit from this project; 50 representatives of citizens and institutions, over 324 people from the communities with which the pilot organizations work closely.
